Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week - time to say 'thank you'! Volunteers' Week is an annual UK festival of volunteering. The main aims of the Week are to recognise, reward and recruit volunteers.

Volunteers' Week is a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1 to 7 June each year. It plays a huge part in raising the profile of volunteers as well as encouraging others to get involved.  It is a time to say 'Thank you' and to publicly recognise the difference made by volunteers.

Volunteers' Week began in 1984. Each year more organisations get involved, hosting a variety events throughout Wales, including award presentations, information stands and community events.

Why not celebrate Volunteers' Week with your volunteers by, for example:
- Using the Volunteers Week logo
- Awarding volunteers with a Volunteers' Week certificate
- Getting media publicity for what volunteers do
- Holding a special 'thank you' event

Publicise your event as widely as possible.
Send details of your plans to nnicholls@wcva.org.uk and we will post them on this website.

Send information to nnicholls@wcva.org.uk to upload to the events section of the website.

Tweet about what's happening, using #volunteersweek and send your tweets to us @VolWales (and retweet what others are doing)

Whatever you do, have an enjoyable Volunteers' Week!
