]Disability and Health, Advice Work and Counselling

Our Transition Support Service provides impartial, confidential information, advice and support during the transition from school to adult life or continued education. The service is for parents and carers of children and young people on the autism spectrum and for young autistic people themselves. Volunteers provide telephone and email support from their own homes. As a Volunteer you will be: Calling and emailing parents, carers and autistic young people who have contacted the transition support service Offering accurate and up-to-date information and advice about transition procedures, provision and entitlements Helping parents and young autistic people get appropriate post-school provision and providing information on relevant issues Carrying out case work which may include gathering, reading and analysing documents and carrying out research Helping parents, carers and young autistic people to write letters and to prepare for meetings Handling telephone and email enquir

Is this role flexible? Four hours per week. You can choose when to make calls and you can spread the hours across one or more days around your other commitments.

Training provided: Training dates: From April - September 2018 complete 7 distance learning modules, spread over approximately 16 weeks and involving about 20 hours work in total. September 2018 (date to be confirmed) - 2 day Training, Cardiff
