]Management and Committee Work, Fundraising
We need enthusiastic and well-organised individuals across the UK to act as Co-ordinators and Ambassadors, acting as a Barnardo’s spokesperson within your local community We don't want you to commit to a certain number of hours each week. This is a flexible role and dependent on fundraising opportunities in your area. • To promote Barnardo’s in your local community, sourcing As and When Volunteers, which you will use to form a volunteer team that you will coordinate on our behalf. • To ensure all As and When volunteers are briefed appropriately to carry out their role. • To be the key point of contact for our As and When Volunteers, acting as Leader by arranging people power and rotas for collections, talks and events. • Liaising with Barnardo’s staff to ensure fundraising and collection materials are issued to volunteers in time for any bookings. • Co-ordinating the collection and banking of money, and retrieval of fundraising materials.

Requirements: However, in addition to these key duties, the list of activities you may be involved with can be as varied as you like - one day you could be acting as a Barnardo's spokesperson and ambassador, perhaps by helping out at an information stand, or visiting a local community group. On another day you could be giving a short talk at a local school, or collecting and banking money and cheques. You could also assist us at our fundraising and challenge events if you would like to, or get involved with our Big Toddle event. • Excellent organisational skills • Good communication skills and a friendly smile • Reliable and honest • Knowledge of your local community (or a willingness to learn!). • Passion, enthusiasm and the ability to inspire others to support Barnardo’s • An interest in Barnardo’s and the services it offers

Training provided: • You will receive an induction to the work of Barnardo’s and the role, learn more about Barnardo’s projects and services near you, and have regular contact and support from your Regional Relationship Manager and centralised team. • You’ll be meeting and working with new people • You’ll have fun, challenging and rewarding experiences • It will be a great story to tell on your CV and you will be gaining experience in the fundraising and charity sector • There are opportunities for further development and training if needed • You will receive regular updates on events and opportunities that you can get involved with • You will be supporting a fantastic cause and helping to bring people in your local community together.
