We are looking to recruit Information and Support Volunteers (Befriending, Telephone) for our My MS, My Rights, My Choices Project in Wales. As an Information and Support Volunteer you will provide emotional support and befriending to people with MS and signpost and refer service users to other applicable organisations. We are looking to start this project in January 2018 and we need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people living with MS. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a large charity, develop your existing skills and learn new ones.


/ Working with children and/or vulnerable adults

/ Required to use own vehicle

Premises type: Community based/ Service user homes

Public transport: depends on location, but may be a chance that there isn't any available.

Min hours expected per week: 2 hours

Min period of commitment: 1 year

Requirements: As an Information and Support volunteer providing telephone befriending, you will need to have access to a telephone.

Support offered:

/ Induction/ One to one supervision/ Peer support/ Mentoring/buddying/ Social events/meetings

Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ Alone/ In a group/ With paid staff/ With other volunteers

Additional support needs:

Training provided: Induction based training

Age requirements: 18+

/ Application form/ Informal discussion/ References/ Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check

"Out of pocket" expenses refunded for the following:

/ Transport/ Food allowance
