To organise and manage events to raise money for the local Samaritans branch. • Organise, promote and manage local fundraising events to raise money on behalf of local Samaritans branch • Recruit, train and manage volunteers to deliver the events • Communicate with the Branch Fundraising Co-ordinator on a regular basis regarding fundraising activity and agree budgets • Make sure that a risk assessment is completed for each event and appropriate insurance cover is in place • Make sure that any activity complies with Samaritans policies and relevant fundraising and event management regulations e.g. handling money, data protection • Ensure event materials comply with Samaritans branding policies • Maintain record of funds raised and expenditure for fundraising activities


/ May have opportunity to use Welsh language whilst volunteering

Premises type: community based

Public transport: Volunteering will take place either in the branch or across various locations, all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with our policy.

Min period of commitment:

Requirements: • Event management or project management experience (desirable but not essential) • Volunteer management experience (desirable) • Knowledge of events and fundraising regulation and good practice (desirable) • Enthusiastic and committed • Willing to learn about our mission and values • Able to manage people and delegate tasks • Able to work as part of a team • Location will depend on where the activity is taking place with occasional meetings with Branch Fundraising Co-ordinator

Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ Alone/ In a group/ With other volunteers

Training provided: All new Samaritans volunteers should complete the Samaritans Initial Training Induction module and specific training to the role will be arranged
