The Volunteer Gardening Co-ordinator will be responsible for delivering 12 hours per week of horticulture work with young vulnerable adults. This will include the growing of fresh produce in both the YMCA garden and the allotment. The main purpose of the project will be to teach the young adults the values in growing and eating fresh produce and creating an environment which promotes good mental health. The successful volunteer will be required to drive a mini-bus, have a good rapport with vulnerable adults and a good knowledge of horticulture. Hours will be flexible but will take place on weekdays. The individual will be subject to a DBS check before they can start volunteering. Travel expenses will be paid.
