Volunteers to assist in the provision of a trolley shop service within Glan Clwyd hospital, offering refreshments, reading material and engaging socially with patients. This is a great way for friends and couples to volunteer as a team or individually to help serve those in hospital, both staff and patients. The weekend rounds would benefit those still at college or doing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.

Is this role flexible? This role revolves round the patient visiting times - afternoons 1-4.30pm, evenings 5.30 - 7pm


Min hours expected per week: 3 hours


Min period of commitment:

Requirements: Friendly and welcoming personality. Ability and willingness to ensure confidentiality. Ability to work as a team, communication and listening skills. KEY TASKS Offering refreshments and reading materials. Cash handling and stock replenishment and rotation. Acting as a friendly point of contact for customers. We do encourage volunteers to work in pairs to share the load.


Support offered:

/ Induction/ Mentoring/buddying


Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ With paid staff/ With other volunteers

Some paid staff are used to ensure the continuity of the service.


Additional support needs: Will be discussed at interview


Training provided: All volunteers are offered full training and are actively encouraged to use our on-line learning tools to achieve certificate level training.

Age requirements: 16+
