Volunteers to assist in the provision of a trolley shop service within Glan Clwyd hospital, offering refreshments, reading material and engaging socially with patients. This is a great way for friends and couples to volunteer as a team or individually to help serve those in hospital, both staff and patients. The weekend rounds would benefit those still at college or doing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme.

Min hours expected per week: 4 hours

Min period of commitment:

Requirements: Friendly and welcoming personality. Ability and willingness to ensure confidentiality. Ability to work as a team, communication and listening skills. KEY TASKS Offering refreshments and reading materials. Cash handling and stock replenishment and rotation. Acting as a friendly point of contact for customers. We do encourage volunteers to work in pairs to share the load.

/ Induction/ One to one supervision/ Peer support/ Mentoring/buddying/ Social events/meetings

Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ With paid staff/ With other volunteers

Additional support needs: To be discussed at interview.

Training provided: Training relevant to the role will be provided by Royal Voluntary Service. Training will be delivered face to face or via online learning.

Age requirements: 16+
