NUMBER OF HOURS: Between 2 and 15 hours a week. THE PROJECT Routes 2 Life (R2L) is a Countryside and Horticultural skills based programme accessible to all community members throughout the County Borough of Caerphilly. The project provides opportunities to learn new countryside and horticultural skills and facilitate the growing and harvesting of a variety of fruit and vegetable crops. Volunteers help run activities at the horticultural site and support participants involved in the Routes 2 Life programme. As a horticultural volunteer you will have the opportunity to assist a variety of activities such as: -Planting sessions in polytunnels -Allotment sessions -Weeding/maintenance of grounds and polytunnels VOLUNTEER'S ROLE •Responsible for helping run garden and conservation activity for participants •Assist in keeping an accurate register of attendance. •Promote activities to participants, detailing their benefits. •Make sure all taking part enjoy, have fun and are encouraged.

Premises type: Community Based at site in Pontllanfraith

Transport details: Once on site, there is transport provided to get volunteers to the horticultural site.

Public transport: There is a bus stop opposite: Pontllanfraith-Bird In Hand. There is also a nearby train station at Ystrad Mynach.
