Do you live locally to New Quay? Would you like to get involved in our community engagement and education work? We’re looking for welsh speaking volunteers to assist our Living Seas Awareness Officer. Volunteer tasks include helping to run education and engagement events such a rock pooling sessions and the CBMWC Wildlife Watch Group. Helping to develop new educational activities and materials. Hosting talks, visits and activity sessions for schools, families and groups (including adults). Volunteers will help to inspire people to value the sea, gain experience in environmental education, develop new skills and HAVE FUN! This is a long term opportunity and we are looking for volunteers who can dedicate at least a year to the role.

/ May have opportunity to use Welsh language whilst volunteering
Premises type: Based in the CBMWC office, discovery room and occasional visits to other locations
Public transport: Located on the T5 X50 bus route Cardigan - Aberystwyth

Min hours expected per week: 2 hours
Min period of commitment: 1 year
Requirements: Interest and a passion for marine life, conservation and community engagement

Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:
/ Alone/ In a group/ With paid staff/ With other volunteers
Additional support needs:
Training provided: Training in marine species ID, wildlife surveys, visitor centre operation engaging with the public
Age requirements: 18+

Selection details: The role is subject to the completion of an enhanced DBS disclosure and the provision of two satisfactory references.

As the role involves working with children and vulnerable adults those with criminal convictions and experience of substance misuse are not suitable for the role.
