]Befriending, Caring, Mental Health


Drive employs over 600 staff to provide specialist support to people with a wide range of needs including those with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, physical disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, complex health needs, and challenging behaviour. We work in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, Bridgend, Monmouthshire and Neath Port Talbot to ensure the people we support enjoy full and valued lives in their local communities. We are looking for volunteers/befrienders to share their interests and hobbies with individuals we support. What can our Volunteers expect from us: Fully funded induction/training programme - Career progression opportunities - out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed - Policies that cover everyone’s needs - We will need to have 2 references. we hope our Volunteers - Fulfil their potential - Develop new skills - Make new friends - Create opportunities- Make choices - Increase self confidence - Become more independent.

Min hours expected per week: 0 hours


Min period of commitment: to fulfil basic information training 3 months initially

Requirements: Skills and interests will be matched to individual interests


Support offered:

/ Induction/ One to one supervision


Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ Alone/ In a group/ With paid staff

individual arrangements in-line with individual support needs


Training provided: Core training Health and Safety First Aid any Specific training relating to the individual

Age requirements: 18+


Selection procedures:

/ Application form/ Informal discussion/ References/ Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check


"Out of pocket" expenses refunded for the following:

/ Transport/ Food allowance
