Elite Supported Employment Agency is launching a new project called ‘Engage to Change’. This project is designed to assist young people from all over Wales with a learning disability, learning difficulty or Autism who are not in education, employment or training to obtain paid employment via appropriate training and support. This project and other projects within ELITE Supported Employment Agency is looking for committed volunteers to provide training, support and guidance to people with disabilities and support needs within the work place or work related activities. Is this role flexible? Volunteers can be flexible with their hours to meet the needs and requirements of the project


Min hours expected per week: 3 hours


Min period of commitment: Due to induction and training volunteers would need to commit to a minimum of 2 months

Requirements: Good level of literacy,oral skills and communication . Good organisation and interpersonal skills.Ability to interpret and provide instruction.Good at problem solving . A caring and understanding nature.Responsible and committed .Experience of life and of all different kinds of jobs worked.Young and older people from all walks of life.Experience of working with people with a disability ,but not essential .Trustworthy reliable and the ability to work on own initiative .Ability to utilise public transport .


Support offered:

/ Induction/ One to one supervision/ Peer support/ Mentoring/buddying


Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ Alone/ In a group/ With paid staff

Volunteers would be supported by a coordinator and paid staff to give guidance and support to people with disabilities whilst they undertake vocational opportunities and skills for independence within their local community.


Additional support needs: This post is open to people who have a disability .


Training provided: Induction Task analysis Training in systematic instruction Risk assessment Administration training Disability awareness training Overview of supported Employment And any other identified training

Age requirements: 16 - 65
