About St Gwladys’: At St Gwladys’ Church Hall we provide a welcoming and a pleasant environment for our community and Church members. Through support and dedication from our staff and volunteers we envision our Hall as a hub of activity for our local community and surrounding areas. General Description: Event Volunteers help promote the work and groups currently running at St Gwladys’ Church Hall. The range of events we attend can include volunteer promotion events, community fairs, road shows and community events held at St Gwladys’ Church Hall. Key responsibilities: • Engage members of the public in a friendly and welcoming manner • Promoting St Gwladys’ Church Hall’s current and future events • Answering general enquiries and directing specific questions the appropriate person. • Encourage members of the public to leave their details, in order to keep them up to date with St Gwladys’ future projects • Assist with dismantling displays at the end of each event and general tidying

Public transport: Bargoed train and bus station are both within walking distance.

Is this role flexible? Each event we attend may vary; some will take place during the week and others at weekends. As a result this role is flexible and you as the volunteer will chose which events you can and want to attend.

Min hours expected per week: 0 hours

Min period of commitment: 1 month

Requirements: • Confident at working with members of the public • Ability to work as part of a team • Excellent communication and listening skills • An interest in community based projects (desirable) • Ability to adhere to confidentiality • Enthusiastic and outgoing

Support offered:

/ Induction/ One to one supervision/ Social events/meetings

Volunteers will be carrying out the activities:

/ In a group/ With other volunteers

Additional support needs: At St Gwladys' we tailor the volunteering opportunities to suit the individuals needs; both physically and educationally (we will be sensitive to peoples mental heath needs).

Training provided: All Volunteers will undergo in house Health and Safety training. Any further training required e.g. Food Hygiene, First Aid can be sought if required.

Age requirements: 16+
