Volunteer group leader You can really make a difference to people affected by macular disease by running a peer support group in your local area. Our friendly groups offer support and help in understanding macular disease and coming to terms with sight loss. They provide a great opportunity for people to get together and share information about treatments, other services, staying independent or just having a chat. As a group leader you will be take the lead for running the group with the help of other volunteers. You will receive full training and support from your Group Development Manager enabling you to build a flourishing group. With over 300 groups across the UK, all of them are different. Most groups meet regularly (once a month) during the day in places like community centres. Many groups organise speakers and social/awareness raising events.
