]Green/Sustainable Development

Are you interested in working outdoors, making new friends and helping people to gain new skills and increased confidence? We are looking for volunteers who will assist the Green Days environmental conservation project in increasing the independence and skills of vulnerable adults. The project is delivered outdoors in nature reserves, parks and public green spaces in the Vale of Glamo and includes a wide range of activities. We carry out footpath maintenance, litter clearing, removal of invasive species, maintenance of wildlife areas, habitat and general landscape improvement and recording of wildlife plus the development of nature walks and wildlife gardening, often working closely with the countryside rangers. There are many benefits to volunteering with us, such as increased confidence, physical and mental health benefits and learning practical hands on conservation skills. And it’s great fun working outdoors in the beautiful South Wales countryside, and discovering new places!
