Centre volunteers clock up over 5,000 hours in 2017

Wales Millennium Centre volunteers gave an incredible 5,000 hours of their time in 2017.

The Centre, which launched its volunteering scheme in June 2017, is supported by around 140 volunteers who worked 1,301 shifts last year.

Welcoming over one million visitors a year, the Centre's volunteers assist its Customer Experience team as venue ushers helping give the public a warm Welsh welcome, checking tickets and showing guests to their seats.

At a recent end of year celebration, awards were given out to the top three individuals for the most shifts worked since the scheme began:

  • Rebekah Collins - 64 shifts worked
  • Laura Fear - 62 shifts worked
  • Kevin Davies - 47 shifts worked

Awards were also given to Tony Grandon, Senga Waddilove, Terry and Audrey Evans, Kevin Davies and Danielle Mansell for a range of categories including 'most improved' and 'most observant'.

As a charity, the Centre relies on volunteers to support our cause, assist our team and enhance our service offering.

We're really grateful to all of our volunteers who have clocked up over 1,300 shifts and supported us to date.

In return for them giving us their time, our volunteers get to experience many types of shows, the ability to log volunteering hours, personalised references and unique volunteer engagement events, such as backstage tours, talks and get togethers.

Joining our volunteer programme can be extremely rewarding for people of all ages and backgrounds, so we'd encourage anyone who has time to give to get in touch.

Wales Millennium Centre continues to seek the support of volunteers and is hosting a drop in session for people to find out more about the scheme on

8th February 2pm - 6pm
