Recruitment of ASH Wales Board Members
ASH Wales is currently looking at recruiting new board members with an expertise in working with young people/youth work. ASH Wales is a small but active voluntary organisation. It is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The Board of Directors of the company are also trustees of the charity. The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of ASH Wales and guides and supports the Director and staff.
To help us further develop our services we need experienced people to join our Board. We are particularly keen to recruit members who have:
1. Experience working in Youth Work, BME communities, and Mental Health sectors But also applicants who may have the following skills:
2. Experienced in the field of public health with an interest in tobacco control.
3. Current competitive grant expertise and research skills across the social and medical spectrums.
4. A strong skill set in lobbying and Welsh political campaigning.
5. Sound financial management knowledge, skills and experience.
6. Expertise in Charity Law, Risk Management, legislative frameworks and/or employment law.
7. Private sector experience, entrepreneurial and/or organisation development skills and experience
8. Regulatory frameworks, in particular trading standards
9. Strategic planning and governance
Board meetings are held 4-5 times per year at the ASH Wales offices (teleconferencing facilities are available), usually on a Thursday evening between 4.30 and 6.30pm. Applications from across Wales are welcomed. Board Members are volunteers however ASH Wales will reimburse reasonable expenses associated with the cost of undertaking Board Member duties.
