The function of the Receptionist is to act as the first point of contact for the charity. They must display a welcoming, professional and caring manner in accordance with the ethos of Age Concern Swansea.
Age Concern Swansea currently have the following volunteering opportunity:
Volunteer Receptionist will be required to:
- Greet visitors to the building and direct them to the appropriate project
- Operate the switchboard - take messages for staff as needed
- Give rassurance to callers who may be anxious or upset
- Maintain records of visitors and callers to the office
- Record all incoming and outgoing mail
- File, photocopy, and word-processing
- Attend team meetings and training sessions as needed
It is not the role of the Receptionist to provide Advice and Information as they have not been trained in specialist areas of work.
Volunteers should be 18+. CRB checks will be undertaken. Training provided.
