The Organisation is looking for business mentors to support young people as they start up their own businesses.
As a business mentor, you'll encourage and guide a young person in the steps they take to start up and run their own business. You can help them by sharing your skills and experiences, as well as offering encouragement, support and a listening ear.
This role links volunteers to individual young people who are getting support and finance from the organisation's Business Programme. Mentoring is a critical element of the programme - providing young people with the support they need to ensure success and survivability of their businesses.
What you'll do:
- Make a minimum commitment of 2 years to the relationship.
- Give 2-4 hours per month.
- Attend training before you start your role.
- Regularly meet and actively develop a supportive relationship with your assigned young person.
- Help the young person develop their business, build their confidence and personal skills.
- Guide the young person to find and interpret information, understand problems, identify solutions and make their own decisions.
- Help the young person work towards business goals and action plans, and review their achievements.
- Regularly communicate with your organisation contact, sending feedback reports describing the young person's progress and business performance.
