Be creative, use your social networking skills to engage your community in raising awareness and much needed funds. Be as innovative and quirky as you like or choose from a range of tried and tested activities such as; coffee mornings, quiz nights, fashion shows, sponsored walks, gala dinners or open gardens. Did you know that half a million pounds was raised from events last year? £1,100 enables a young person with sight problems to spend a week trying out new leisure activities, gaining independence and making new friends on an RNIB Vacation Scheme. What will I be doing? • Plan and research potential events • Share information with your team • Liaise with venues, event partners, local media and other groups • Source materials and equipment necessary for the event • Manage and supervise the event (if required) • Update Community Fundraising Manager with progress and results
