We are a well established family run craft centre and gallery who are currently looking for voluntary help with events and exhibitions and some help in the shop area. Erwood Station Craft Centre and Gallery was formed in 1984 and is based 6 miles south of Builth Wells near the Brecon Beacons, supporting over 80 artists and crafts people and displaying only Welsh art and crafts with year round exhibitions.
We are in need of support for the exhibition manager in designing and co-coordinating events to support the 2010 exhibitions and other events during the upcoming season. This will include the 25th Anniversary on the 3rd July.
Help us to improve, maintain, preserve and promote our Craft Centre.
You will learn from and assist the project manager in many aspects of exhibition and events, also including some marketing and administration activities;
- Production of materials to support the gallery - Exhibition posters, press and delegate packs etc.
- Assisting the managers in running the shop and gallery areas.
- Assisting customers with purchases and giving great customer service.
You will enhance your skills over your work experience / voluntary time, the expected outcomes are;
- Computer skills - Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Mail merge and Publisher
- An excellent knowledge of how to manage and create events and co-ordinate exhibitions
- The ability to work in retail
- Experience of working in an office and managing projects from start to finish.
- Self reliant and self motivated in order to manage own workload
- Organisational skills - filing and attention to detail
- Able to deal directly with suppliers and customers on a regular basis
