Opportunity title:Creative Workshop Volunteer - Caer 257
Reference: Caer 257
Location: Your local area.
The organisation was established in May 2006 to provide help, support and information to individuals, schools, youth and community settings affected by bullying. The charity works across Wales and all of our activities are delivered by a team of volunteers - which we are seeking to expand. Wherever possible, an antibullying message needs to be reinforced and all children and young people need to have an awareness and understanding of what bullying is and why it happens. For younger children and special needs children and adults, this may sometimes be difficult to recognise. This can make it harder for them to speak about their concerns. In addition to providing a support mechanism what will hopefully encourage a "culture of telling", the "hand of courage" creative workshop was designed to enhance the development benefit and well being of children. It can be delivered as part of a lesson or play activity. The primary focus and essence of the activity is to support and facilitate the play and learning process whilst educating on the effects of bullying.

The purpose of the opportunity is to deliver the workshop to schools, local groups, organisations and at community events.

Key activities are to:

  • At attend schools, groups and community events who have requested the workshop.
  • To deliver the workshop using the standard material and format provided.
  • To ensure all relevant forms are completed and signed by the appointed representative form the school/organisation and passed to the Project Manager.
  • Wherever possible set out a standard display of the organisation's information resources.
  • To liaise with the Project Manager in order to agree workshop assignments and provide a short report on each workshop given.
