Opportunity title:Youth Anti-Homophobic Bullying Advocates for Stonewall
Reference: Flintshire
Location: Flintshire area
Stonewall Cymru is launching its Youth Anti-Homophobic Bullying Advocates programme, to encourage young people to get involved in tackling homophobic bullying.

The programme, which is funded by Volunteering in Wales fund, gives young people the skills, training and confidence they need to plan and run their own local campaigns against homophobic bullying, with the support of local adult mentors and Stonewall Cymru staff.  Stonewall research has shown that homeophobic bullying is almost epidemic in Britains schools.  it is clear that young people are directly affected by homophobic bullying.  Young people will be equiped with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to lead their own anti-homophobic bullying campaigns, and make a real difference in their local communities.

Volunteers aged 16-25 will be accredited on the Millennium Volunteers Scheme and run a range of campaigns from presentations in schools working with local authorities to challenge homophobic bullying.
