Volunteer duties: to support victims of crime through phoning or visits
Fundraising:
This is very much a ‘hands on’ role, and ways of planning and organising events will vary accordingly to the type of event and the people onvolved in that event The types of tasks / activites you could be involved with: -      Working independently or with colleagues of Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) to plan, target and respond to invitations to events which could provide information and / or fundraising opportuniites -      Helping to develop and maintain contact with local organisations and indidivuals, to raise the profuile of THT -      Taking a PR role in encouraging volunteers, members and friends to support THT through taking part in fundraising and awareness raising events and projects -      Encouraging individual volunteers / members to help out with specific events or projects -      Applying, with guidance from THT coporate fundraisers, to businesses for corporate sponsorship or to appropriate charitable trusts -      Helping to develop and implement new ideas for raising awareness and funds

Volunteers 16+ needed as fundraisers for this charity which provides care, compassion and support to working, retired and disabled deep-sea fishermen and their families. A great opportunity to develop or enhance your fundraising support of a proffessional using a number of different techniques.

The role will include: assisting with fundraising initiatives as guided by the Regional Fundraiser, carrying out fundraising activities within your and border communities, helping with the preparation of yearly fundraising plans and identifying and recommending new ways of fundraising. Also helping to support in the development of fundraising activities and to liaise with local groups and organisations

No formal skills required just a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Times are flexible - this opportunity can either be on an adhoc or dedicated basis. Training and support given. Expenses paid.
